Hey guys I have a question...I purchased a 530 Gold EK Chain online and was assisting with the install with a buddy who had done it b4. We forgot to put the O-rings on one side of the chain b4 we riveted back together. None of the shops around here carry a 530 EK gold replacement link but they do carry a 520 or 530 RK replacement. What would be the difference to put the RK vice the EK. I am talking about just the connecting link.
    Thanks in advance.

A master link for any 530 chain should be safely interchangeable.

You may however find that the plates are slightly different in size.

My friend walt broke the plate on the master link for his DID chain, so we installed an EK master link that I had sitting around.

There are some manufacturers that use an oversized pin, but I don't think EK or RK do.

        Just because they sound the same doesn't mean they are: there≠their≠they're; to≠too≠two; its≠it's; your≠you're; know≠no; brake≠break

Won't be white after next week. Cobalt blue will be the new color.
