  • another wiring question

    the ground wire from the battery leads to where? do i mount it to the frame? if it goes to the frame where on the frame does it go?

    please help all i want to do is ride

    just going by memory....

    I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say...

    (I'm pretty sure) it goes from the battery to the crankcase (above the clutch plates, and roughly in between cyls. 3 & 4 (about 2/3 from left to right on the engine casing). You should see a bolt at that location which would connect the wire to the case. Releative to the timing tensioner, the bolt is back, below and to the right (if you were in riding position relative to the bike).
    At least this is the case with my 93. Perhaps newer models are a little different.

    Clean your connection well before you hook up the wire.

      Yeah , the old bike I have the ground mounts to the engine , too . Makes sense .
      I am a fluffy lil cuddly lovable bunny , dammit !
