Bike died on me! help!!!

I was riding home two weeks ago bike was running fine pulled off to get some gas and my bike would start again after that. I checked the batt and that is good. If you jump it or put it on a charger bike starts and runs just fine the second you pull it off ether of those things it dies. I was thinkin stator or altnator. any ideas or do you guys know any place i would be able to find ether of those for a good price? Its a 1998 kanata 750 forgot to say that earlier.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Check the FS section of the forum to see if there's anything available.
