It is the Napa Powersports that is made by WIX? Ive never read this thread before... sorry.... because Ive got an oil filter cutting tool laying around somewhere. Probably would have saved some cut fingers.Originally posted by arsenic93 octane fuel and K&N pod filters rock.

yes, the NPS filter is made by WIX specifically for powersport applications...the four digit number will cross directly to a NAPA gold filter number, but they are built differently via the valving in them is specific for the NPS.

I think if you change the oil and filter every 2000 miles any filter should work,But I see what your looking for.The longest lasting and the best working filter.Last edited by poppy_kurt; 05-06-2010, 03:05 AM.

Which is the best one?
From the link provided previously it looks like the Emgo 55660 is the best one both for price and function. http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/FilterStudy.html Stay away from the Fram crap though. I have an RX7 and the filter is the same on my car as my 04 Kat. Spun the car filter on the bike cause it looked the same and I had one in the garage. It is the same fitment. Who would figure? As a comparison the RX7 rotary is basically a 1300cc engine that runs way hotter than the average piston engine and functions the same as a two stroke with oil being injected into the rotor housing while running. (Uses oil injection the same as a two stroke engine that is). Oil quality and stability is critical so frams and other crappy quality filters are a definate no no. With our Kats it is just as critical due to air cooling. So make sure you DO NOT skimp on the oil and filter and changing frequency."The usefulness in a cup is in its emptiness" Bruce Lee
