buddy of mine has a d&d exhaust off of a 1996 gsxr 750, its in mint condition and he only want $100 for it, its the slip on and the stock header, so will it fit?

eh, maybe not then. If you spring for a 98+ header or a b12 header, you might have better luck.
As for the original idea, the 96 GSXR750 is a watercooled model.
