I have a Yosh carbon slip-on. I was thinking of shortening the head pipe about 8-inches, so muffler attaches just behind footpeg. Will I have to adjust carbs, rejet?

That would be the midpipe, not the headpipe....... and I wouldn't imagine it will make such a difference as to require rejetting, assuming you keep the same can and all. It might reduce your ground clearance, though. I absolutely cannot visualize what you are trying to do...the muffler already attaches at the footpeg...90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.
