So my bike normally idles around 1500rpm when cold or after a short jaunt but sometimes after riding around 70kph it sits around 2000rpm or even higher. I just changed the oil on monday so I'm wondering what it could be that's making me run hot? I don't smell anything burning or see any smoke. Is it just something simple like adjusting me idle screw?

Easy enough to turn it out and try it. I have mine between 1~1250 when warm.Must read for carb tuners......http://www.factorypro.com/tech/tech_...m_engines.html

It's normal for idle temp to go higher when they warm up but
not that high. Try turning the idle screw down a little and if you
find that the idle gets too rough when its cold you may want to
pass a container of Techron through the tank to help clean out
the idle jets and valve seats.
