Okay, awhile back my bike started to die at idle. Long story short, two of my pilot screws had backed out and fallen out altogether, one was far enough out it was about to fall out and the fourth seemed relatively okay. I purchased replacement screws, springs, washers and o-rings and put everything back together. Now I'm having some other issues.
1. It's running really rich. I open the throttle a bit and a nice cloud of black smoke comes out of the tailpipe. I'm guessing this has something to do with the pilot screws, since that's all that changed. I thought I had them at 2.5 turns out, but maybe they didn't get screwed in all the way.
2. The idle's fubar somehow. I'll rev it from idle (approximately 1500RPM or so) and it'll rev just fine, then drop back and stay at 3000RPM for about 30 seconds or so, then drop down to around 1200RPM.
My mechanical abilities aren't all that great and I'm getting frustrated. Any ideas what could be causing these two issues, or do I give up and take to the shop?
