fuel gauge dont work??

my 96 kat 600,fuel gauge stop working.when I checked all wires they look good...any ideas????thanks for any help

Sure the wires look good but is there anything inside them?
Clean all the connections the check voltage to the gauge.
Rust in the tank? I bet your sender is dead..

Common problem is the sending unit goes bad.

Is the gauge going ALL the way over to the left resting on the pin , or is it just kinda on "e" ? I mean , it COULD be that the float fell off . Been there , done that .

Yes , but is it on the PIN , or hovering just ABOVE the pin ? I mean , we've already established "it's on 'e'" . Help me help you , man .....

Ahhh Md is getting at is there is an electrical issue the needle would be right on the pin..
But if it is a mechanical sender issue it might be on E but not on the pin..
