thank you cyberpoet. I needed to read the suggestions when i was in a better state of mind. i've had a crap run of luck the past two weeks, but thats not everyone who gave suggestions' fault. i've been out riding quite a bit the past two days, (the weather has been wonderful!) and it seems to be i wasn't paying attention to when i was downshifting primarily. not dropping into first from neutral at a stop was solved by rolling forward or backwards a few inches, but i've been staying in first the vast majority of the time unless I'm in gridlock.
So.
If i came off like a horses behind to anyone, i apologize.

(anyone want to buy a ford 427 roller stroker motor? its a great drag motor dynoed at 550hp at 6500 rmp. it just wasnt quite what i wanted in my mustang. hah)
