  • Putting engine back together.

I am in the process of splitting my case to replace a snapped shift fork that is locking the transmission. It is going smooth so far exept for two stripped allen-head bolts. Any tips on re-assemboly and what new parts such as gaskets i will need to put the machine back together! thanks!

I'd check a clymer manual and see what all they call for when rebuilding. What year/model is it? I could look it up if it's a pre as I have both 600 and 750 clymers.

Use a liquid sealant on the case halves (lightly). We always used GaskACinch (I probably spelled that wrong). Lubricate every oil lubed part with oil. Make sure to follow the torque sequences as well as torque values.
