88 gsx600f stalling

I just got my 88 gsx 600 running.I rode around town for a little while.Then park it and tried agian to ride but when I start it in nuetral and shift to first gear it stalls.I tried to adjust the clutch cable but nothing seems to work.Happens everytime I put it in gear it stalls.help

def check that side stand switch as arsenic says maybe just whip the stand up and down a few times could just be sticking, i keep mine wd40'd - let us know if you sort it
