i would go with a 13/64..... all the low end power you would ever need.....

hahahahhah ok.... that was just messing.....

for real i did the typical 'recommended' swap of down one in the front, up 2 in the rear....

      -1 Front = +3 Rear....

I don't think going down in the front is a good idea. With a 14 tooth sprocket on it already 13 tooth is gonna make the chain wear crazy fast, see why I siad 3 up in the back and not -1 in the front

I agree...... 14 tooth front is all the smaller I'd want to go. Go 47-48 in the back, but leave the front at 14.

well the BEST is SideWinder either TriMetal or Ti-Moly, but they aren't cheap

              I have a 50 tooth Ti-Moly http://sidewindersprockets.com/titanium_sprockets.html

by going to a 47-48 will he also need a longer chain? or is there enough chain and adjustment there?

no, you'll need a longer chain. it's 14/45 112 stock and you add 1 link pre tooth. SO up 3, is 115 chains don't come in odd link counts so round up to 116, BUT I always rounded up, but with the 15/50 set up I have in theory you need 122, well 120 works BTW, I don't see 47 really doing anything.

I run a 14/47 on my 750. I have a nice chain and sprocket set on mine. I have an aluminum rear with Titan tough coating. So far it is wearing very well. I have been hammering on it pretty hard to see how much abuse it will take.

on KatBusa I have a 14/48 setup, steel sprocket specialties rear sprocket. The only issue I have had is the RK chain stretching way to much to fast. I didn't have that problem with the oem chain?!
