  • Rear Axle Nut Size?

I need help. I have a '90 600 and lost the rear axle nut on the way to work. None of the dealerships in the area have them in stock and they don't know the thread pitch. Does anynoe know the thread pitch so I can check the hardware stores?

    Thanks in advance!

It's a castle nut though. I wasn't able to source any locally. Your best bet is to order a new one either through the dealers or someone with parts.

Thanks for the help everyone. I went to Ace hardware and picked up a M16 x 1.50 castle nut. It's rolling again.

Did you get a rated nut? Personally for that application I would not trust any fastener unless it was rated.

I got a nylock nut for the axles, I don't use a cotter pin, I just torque the nylon insert nut. There is a torque spec with and without a cotter. With a nylon insert nut you KNOW it won't back out. Oh and just for chits and giggles it's grade 8.8 too.

Good call on the graded bolt, I don't think the one I got is. For the $2 I'll have them order the OEM nut from Suzuki.
