was putting my bike back together and hit the petcock. the knob and what kinda looks like a cork fell off. just wondering how i know if i have it back together right. and how i know that its not sitting on prime. i could just pop it back on if i knew what my tank was sitting on when i hit it off, but i dont. i have put it back on then turned it to all three positions to see if gas will flow, to try and find prime but it wont. heres a pic of what i knocked loose

You popped the dial off. Rebuild the petcock and reseat it.

It's a clip that holds the dial on. As long as you still have that clip you can fix it pretty easily and quickly.
