So I changed out the cam chain tensioner spring and now the bike still sounds the exact same. What is the chance this could all be caused by a bad header gasket?

Slim and none, These bikes sound like Singer sewing machines. If alls well in the valve clearence dept and no leaks, then don't sweat the ticking. Mine sorta reminds me of my dads old 63 Plymouth Valiant slant 6 with the juke box transmission.If its not broke, Hit it with a bigger hammer and blame it on cheap imports
