  • More carb questions

Pulled my carbs apart and mucked them out.

I have a question though, what is the part called that I have the green arrow pointing to and does it come out? and if yes how lol?

My other question is is there a "stock" setting for the Air/fuel screw on a 2003 600?. My #1 carb was 2 1/8 turns #2 was 2 1/4 and the other two I drilled too far and while not damaging the screws beyond use I did manage to spin them enough to make taking a reading impossible.

Start with 2 1/4 and adjust from there?

I'm running a K&N filter and a Wileyco slip on and would get that popping noise on deceleration.

I would remove the K&N filter, and put a paper filter back in.

You may need to jet to get the popping on decel to go away.

no it's not, Thomasman is a picture of a pre, yours is a post. Not a pilot jet. I've never taken that out, there is no reason too. The stater jet screws on there.

Awesome, one less thing to mess with . I just need to check my float height and A/f settings and it (hopefully) should be good to go.

Once this is done it's time to pull the forks off.
