  • How to tell if carbs are 600 or 750?

I have a 1993 kat, and the seller stated that they converted a 600 engine on it to a 750, Im not sure its true, but I want to know if its installed on it is a 600 or 750 carbs, how can I know what really its installed on it? Also I checked in the outer pistons casing and It shows its a 600 engine, but still they could have replaced the linings and pistons, it is true? Thanks! Harry

no dude, you can't bore a 600 to a 750. the 600 and 750 crank, rods, rod bearings, crank bearings, pistons, and rings are not the same. Not only are the crank bearings different, but the 600 and 750 upper and lower crankcases are different, so can you make a 600 a 750, yes. Is it even a little bit sensible, no. The 600 and 750 cylinder head is not the same either. If any part of that engine is a 600 the whole thing is a 600. The 600 carbs in 93 are BST33SS meaning 33mm, the 750 are BST36SS meaning 36mm.

you can, but you'd need the 750 intake boots on a 600 head, and the jetting would be WAY off.

That would be like putting fuel injectors from a 5.0L mustang, into a 1.6L civic...you'd get a lot more fuel and air into your cylinder than you want and need....
