  • Is this wear and ready for replacement

    Look at this picture.

It shows my jetneedle and i couldn't help thinking. Should the needle be straigt or is it common to have such a thinner tip than the rest.

The needles are labeled with a small square in big square and then this "5FZ102"

Read somewhere its a mikune needle.

Are they ready for replacement or is it a special kind of jetkit needle..
If its wear, should i change my jets too.

    Sorry for my s h i t t y english, but i'm danish.

    don't recognize the needle.

In this thread cyber posted a pic with the differences between stock and the common jet kit needles.

Can't get it to run right? Find a trick to add HP?

Hey.. that one i had not seen before. but then again as you said, none of those looks like mine.
I found this PDF page at dyno http://www.dynojet.com/pdf/3131.pdf
If you look at the bottom the needle also have that thin point. but if i make a search for the numbers on the needle in Google, It sounds like a standard needle. "5-FZ-102"

      Anyone????

It's definitely not stock. good find with the dynojet pdf. I'd say that is a dynojet kit in your carbs. Keep in mind that I have zero experience with jetting anything myself, so look for a second opinion

Dynojet needle, no wear, no need to buy new jets unless you find they're worn.

Thanks again Kwebbel. You are always there with an answer. If its a Dynojet. Where to see which stage it is???

And then a new question. If my midrange is a little poor, should i raise or lower the needles???

if it would help. heres a pic of my plugs.

its stock europe needle there adjustable over there cause simple fact most Americans are dumb asses and wouldn't know what to do with adjustable factory needles if they bite them in the *** the square inside a square is mikuni's trade mark symbol

As the resident molester of poor, helpless "Ovis Aries" stated, the plugs look like you are running very lean. Need to set the clips on those needles down at least two notches, and that may not be enough. You've got to be getting a bit of lean surge and backfire. What jet # is installed?

                    Il'l check later tonight.
I think it's maybe because the P.O. mounted a carbon exhaust 4-1 and did not changed the fuelsettings.
Is there anything other than raising the needle to be done then???
what size of jets are supposed to be standard then???

When talking about to be running a bit lean.
Is that what happens in this video of my sound???
                    The last bit.
At that time i thought it sounded a bit funny.

i would try 115 main jets mikuni brand square in a square on them and leave it on the 3rd clip for now stock it shoudl have 110 mains across all 4 carbs so 115 is 2 sizez bigger run it and see how the plugs look i bet its faster too

Did rejet 7 sets off Dutch/Belgian pre-98 carbs, never found an adjustable and tapered needle in any off them.
All Dynojet needles I've seen were adjustable and tapered, which made me say Dynojet not noticing the Mikuni trademark.
I knew Suzuki uses different CDI's and jetting in Europe compared to the US and allso for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, guess they use a different setup in Danmark too.
