              My Plans For The Kat.

winter is fast approaching and it seems to be time to put the kats up for hibernation. but wile she sleeps i have a long list of things to do. my bike is still wrecked and needs allot of work. here is my "plans" list for my 2003 kat 600.

              -get tail frame straightened.
              -clean and sync carbs.
-remove all fairing stay brackets from the frame.
-paint frame high gloss black with red pearl.
              -install new oil cooler lines
-install new 4 to 1 header
-paint engine high gloss black with red accents
-remove fairing stays from gas tank
-repaint gas tank black with red pearl
              -corbin seat
              -install gsxr 1100 front end
              -Michelin roadtech z6 tires
              -fender eliminator
              -install custom headlight
              -custom signals
              -custom guage computer

thats my list. at least i have all winter.
WHEN IN DOUBT , HIT THE GAS.

I plan to just ride the damn thing till I cant find anything out there warm enough to keep me from frostbite. Good thing I am an avid snowboarder, so I have lots of gear that I can use. But once theres too much snow on the road for me to use, I've got lots to do, head bearings (mine are notched), fork rebuild and springs (wonder why I need to do this?). CCT spring replacement (cause I suspect the old new ones not right), a whole bunch of misc stuff, like paint touch ups and fairing fixes and more LED lights, maybe paint the rims, get another rear tire (Too many hole shots) Make a bracket for the licence plate to stuff it in front of the tire since I cut off the shovel a while ago. Carb work as usual. Maybe get new graphics for the body (my own design from a local graphics shop) Fix a valve cover leak, Repaint the exhaust.

Too bad winters are getting so mild here in RI *Sigh*
If its not broke, Hit it with a bigger hammer and blame it on cheap imports

RIP Dad 3/15/08 Love and miss ya already

I live in the dorms in Texas, with an open parking lot. Whats the best way to protect the Kat from the elements? Is it just a bike cover?

If I can ever bring myself to stop riding, then I will be fixing the tupperware, painting, PM ish, and um riding.

FTR the riding season isn't over for everyone in VA.

I feel bad for you guys, really.

I plan on buying a new jacket and some gloves. Then maybe a new chain & sprocket set-up.

Other than that I'll have to wait until the end of January and February before the Low temps at night get below 40 degrees

I'm planning on doing away with the stock mirrors and adding some bar end mirrors. I'd also like to find a more comfortable seat. I would go with Corbin Gunfighter but they don't make em for the 1990 Kat 600. Any suggestions on what to get?

I just want to get my POS Katana running good enough to either ride or sell. I've spent WAY too much time on the carbs this winter!

Do they make them for any pre 98 600..
I'm pretty sure the seats are the same.
