Second gear suddenly works

I just had my bike in getting the tire changed and the guy at the shop noticed my clutch was adjusted to be too tight. He adjusted it for me to where it should be and now my bike rarely skips out of second gear. Could the clutch being too tight have been slightly pulling enough to cause my problems?

Too tight should have disengaged the clutch more which would have made it go into gear easier so maybe your compensating by kicking it into second harder thus not missing the gear as you did before.
