Full exhaust or slip on?

I have been looking for a new exhaust and it seems to me like headers and exhaust would increase hp and slip on would just increase noise. Would my best combo be full exhaust, ivans jet kit, and stock air filter(i have read other posts that the K&N might actually decrease power) for my first upgrades? Also another question. . . would a stage III kit be mainly for older bikes and have no benefit for an 04? I'm pretty new to all this so please excuse the lack of knowledge.

no your best bet is stock header and an Ivan's kit. No need getting into pod filters, then you'll have to run a stage III kit. Just stick with the stock air filter, stock header, and Ivan's stage I kit, you'll be good to go.
