need help putting cams back in

i dont know exactly the procedure for putting my cams back in after a rebuild. cant find a manual around here wondering if anyone can give me the rundown on how to put em back in right

#1 on exhaust points forward. There should be 24 free links on the chain.

It's either #2 or #3 up on intake... can't remember.
