Ignition advance--oops

So tonight I decided to go ahead and advance the ignition. As I was putting it back together I went to put the little magnet back on to the (timing)plate and it broke in two pieces. It does hold together by the two screws (it broke in the middle between them). My question is- will this hurt my ignition. I know I ought to go ahead and replace it, but my bike is running fine. Thanks in advance.

Maybe a skip at high RPM?

Other than that it will probably work fine then stop..
