  • is it time for a valve adjustment ?

    i have an 06 600 with about 1200 miles . i did'nt get my first(official) service until this week . i changed the oil myself @ 600 mi. . should i go ahead and tell them to do a valve adjustment while it's there also ? or can i get by for a while without it .

    Yes, it should be done. Try searching around for various reasons why including uneven cam wear, and possible motor problems.

    You can probably do it your self for less than $50 in tools if you're daring enough to try.

      Yes, you should definitely have it done now, whether you have the shop do it, or you do it yourself (plenty of info here on KR about it).

      There was supposed to be an initial valve adjustment done at 600 miles, and then another at 7,500 miles (and every 7,500 miles from then onward).
