  • Question about nitrous.

I know, I know... Let the flaming begin lol. Rest assured that my Kat is nowhere near stock. I'm doing a Kat because nobody else will.

    Anyway....

I need a set of nitrous manifolds like these... http://www.pingelonline.com/nos_manifolds.htm

I asked the people at Pingel, and they didn't seem to know, or care.
Does anybody know if the set for the 750 GSX-R will bolt up to a 600 Bandit head? The biggest problem I can see is the spacing of the two bolt holes where it connects to the head. The rest should fall in line as long as those will bolt up. I would to to a motorcycle junkyard and check it out myself IF there were any close to here.

Also, does anybody know much about Mikuni Flatside carbs? Is there a lot of jetting work that needs to be done to them when you get them? How much dyno time am I looking at with those?

If it helps any at all, I know for a fact that the pre 98 600 carb boots will bolt directly to the Bandit head. So if 750 Kat boots will bolt to a 600 Kat head, is there a set of 750 GSX-R boots that will work on a 750 Kat?

No, the spacing is different, and the bandit uses smaller intake boots on the head, although everything else is exactly the same.

The GSXR-750 boots are spaced differently for the water cooled motors (closer together).

What about for the air cooled GSX-R's? Or the older oil cooled 600 GSX-R's?

That might work, but I've not read anything about it.

I THINK the older GSXR750's used the same carb , but not entirely sure ..... Seems the 88/89 GSXR750 uses a BST36SS or BST38SS depending on whether it's a Ca or 49 state model . Same BASIC carb , with some differences , though . Wait , what were we talking about again ?
