  • Clutch? False Neutral

Ok, once it droppped from 2nd to neutral. a few times I'll shift from 3-4, 4-5 or 5-6 and it sorta revs some then pops into going. there's no grind at all, which leads me to believe it's clutch related.
15k miles, 17 years. no reason to believe it's been replaced
    any ideas?

Actualy it may not be the clutch but teh cable..
I had lots of seemingly unrelated shifting issues
all caused by the cable being out of adjustment.

From what you describe, and the year & miles, I'd say yoru shift drum is wearing at the shift points. Seen that a TON on early Kats.........

and it MAY also be shift forks, but norally the points wear off first.........
I've owned over 70 Katanas - you think I know anything about them?

            8) Mine was doing that. I adjusted the clutch and backed my chain off a little and problem was solved. Think I had my chain a little to tight. Might have had to much bind on the output shaft.
