Today I set out change the fork oil on my 92 Katana GSX1100FN with a mere 20,000 miles. It felt like the front end bottomed out a couple times on Manhattan potholes last week. I've put a rubberband on the fork following Black_peter's suggestion to determine if it really is bottoming-out. We'll see how that goes.
Either way, I'd like to change the fork oil and Step 2, according
to Haynes, is to "remove the fork cap bolt". I turn this this about 10 rotations and it stops dead. Behavior is the same on both sides. This newbie would appreciate a related suggestion.
