  • clutch torque specs

Trying to change my clutch out and dont have a book. The only thing im stuck on is i dont know the torque specs of the four bolts that hold the springs to the plates. Trying to get it done as soon as possible to get it back on the road. If anyone has that info that would be a wonderous help. Thanks.

According to the Clymer's manual for your year 600 the torque specs for the "clutch spring bolts" are:

    Tighten in a criss-cross pattern
11-13 Nm or 8-10 ft lbs.

Also, the clutch nut's torque specs are:
50-70 Nm or 36-51 ft lbs.

    Good luck, hope this helps.

whatever you do DO NOT PUT THEM TO THAT AMOUNT OF TORQUE. That is what the book says but you will snap them off in a heartbeat. That is what I did when I put them down to the spec. Take them down to about 5 ftlbs and that is it. I can do a clutch in my sleep now.
