Well i changed my clutch cable, and man that old cable made your fingers hurt, and the new one is silky smooth. The manual says tighten the adjuster(the one in the case over the front sprocket) till you feel resistance then back it out like 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Ok, well i can turn it freely, and then i feel some resistance and it continues to get more resistance and then it is constant tension. When do it stop and back it out, before i feel any least bit of resistance or when it is uniform resistance?

All you are looking to do is get the rod
to touch the clutch throw out.. (adjusted by the screw)
So the lever pulls the cable..
The cable pulls a lever attached to a
helix, the helix pushes a rod, the rod releases the clutch.
with everything adjusted right there is little wasted movement. Other wise some lever action is
used up taking the slack out of the cable..
Some of the helix movement closing the gap to the rod.
The result is you're not fully disengaging the clutch.
