According to the wiring diagram in the service manual, even on the older (98-04) kats the headlight wires run through the right-side harness - it's just a jumper though. It's the yellow w/white and orange wires on the bike side, and orange w/red on the control pod side.

On the 05 and 06 Kat, the headlight does come on when the key is turned on - but when you hit the start button, the lights are interrupted. I believe that the start switch on these years is connected to wires to do this.Comment
