So I planned this as a two part event. This evening, I drained and removed the tank. Next, I'll tackle the petcock and I hope I'll have the rebuild kit tomorrow or at the end of the week at the latest.

Ok my question. I assume I'll have to remove the petcock from the tank to do this...or will I. I'm just thinking of the seal (o-ring I think) between the petcock and the tank leaking afterwards.

The rebuild kit should come with a new o-ring for use there. I wouldn't take the petcock apart until you are ready to do the rebuild tho!

Yeah for sure Steve, anything outside of a few minutes past disassembly, I'm sure I'd forget how it's supposed to go back together.
