  • Getting more out of my 2005 Katana 600

I'm not very mechanically inclined but very interested in how to get a bit more power out of my 2005 Katana 600. It's only got 400km on it so far so I'm not yet through the break-in process. Any obvious (and relatively inexpensive) add-ons or mods?

    Thanks.

How much more do you need? Is this your first bike?

jet kit, exhaust system, smaller/larger toothed sprockets, new quality tires...

      take your pick.

For useable low end power at the cost of some high-end speed you can increase the number of rear sprocket teeth or drop a front tooth off the forward sprocket. Ivan's jet-kit will also improve performance as well as an ignition advancer.

          None . It's all about want .
Easiest mods include exhuast (pricey) , jet kit , and sprockets . MOST cost effective/results would be a -1 front sprocket ($15 at a dealer) . And since your chain is only gonna have 400km's on it , I wouldn't worry too much about replacing it or the rear sprocket .
