Well I got my new D&D pipe setup and d&d says that pilot jets need to be 2 and a half turns out from stop,,no rejettin req'd.. does this mean main jets backed out or what,,doesn't sound right having mains not tight..

Noo, main jets never come out. The pilot jet also knows as (air jet) on your bike is on the bottom right next to the float bowls. Screw it in all the way til its snug NOT TIGHT, you can break the tip if you go to tight! When its snug unsrew 2 and half turns out.
By the way, You probably shouldnt even touch them because the stock setting for your bike is 2 and a half so their probably already there unless you moved them.
