  • HP limit??

How much HP and Torque can the stock 600 internals withstand?

Not as much as a gixxer box. Your not going to get too much more on these motors without major work, I would just put a bigger motor in it for way cheaper.

What about the B12 motor or a GSXR 1100? How are those internals?

Yoshimura raced 600's, just depends on how much you're willing to spend.

I guarantee Yoshimura spent more than he's willing to. My prediction, dude looks into upgrading the engine. Realizes that after market connecting rods alone are over $1500. Goes with a jet kit, pod filters and his buddy from bike night talks him into a 40 shot of nitrous. He gets everything done, rides it twice, and grenades the fuck out of an oil cooled engine that was outdated technology when he was 5.

If you drop either of those 2 engines into your frame...you really won't need to go about trying to add extra power. If you really really really want to, send the engine to Dale Walker/holeshot or APE.

So how much will the crank hold up too?

Way more than 99% of us can handle. I have seen some with over 200hp but, neither state if the crank was changed. The crank can handle alot more than the rods and or pistons can. Spending $3000 or more building up a motorcycle motor would be easy. Rods and piston are well over $2000 add in head, crank and carb work just to get it to run well, then a dyno tune at $300+ A pop.

If you build a hot rod engine. You don't need to change the crank. Just get the OEM crank lightened and balanced. Con rods on the other hand, Carrillo or Crower con rods are a must.
