i have a 1990 gsx750f katana just curious if there was any aftermarket carbs out there if not .... wheres a good place to get a good set with out burning my wallet? im hoping im not left to ebay :/

To answer your question there is a guy by the name of Arsenic on here that sells restored carbs that are like brand new, just bolt on, sync and go he does very good work. But if you dont want to pay money there is a carb rebuild thread on here somewhere that has step by step instructions and pics to help you rebuild your own, carbs 101 I think its called but im not completly sure.

Flat side carbs are more for racing applications. They need jets changed based on current conditions.-Steve

To further what has been said...
Flatside carbs are not plug and play, but they are the only "aftermarket" application carbs. Made for racing situations, they do not auto adjust for temps, elevation, humidity, so on... they would need to be tuned regularly for changes to any of those sitautions for them to work well.
They avg cost around $800+
Stock fully rebuilt carbs generally go for the $400 range... and work 10X better for the avg daily rider who does not want to spend time constantly "tinkering" with the carbs.
They generally go for around $400 stock, $500 or so with jet kits if you want the extra smoothness and adjustability. You could send them out to a shop, they will probably charge you as much as a set of flatsides to clean them for you.
Or you can rebuild what you have with info posted here.
Rebuild kits if you purchase them are generally just under $100 for a set of 4. Addtionally you will probably need about $30-50 more in misc rubber parts that are not included in the rebuild kits, $25 for carb dip, $10-$15 in carb cleaner spray, and compressed air (compressor or air in a can). Expect about 4-5 days if you really want to clean them right.
