  • 2001 Katana jet plus exhaust tips?

    Hey guys,
Have a 2001 katana 600, looking to make the upgrade to a jet kit and a new exhaust. Most of my riding is long distance, so the power increase isnt really a factor. The jet kit is mainly to keep the bike running properly (assuming that its needed) its more just what system to go with, ie a full or mid + can or just the can... and who to go with. Seen alot of opinions on yoshi and hindle. Im just not sure. Im looking for a low rumble, that kind that you can feel in your chest. any suggestions?

None of the exhausts that make noise will be tolerable for touring like you do.

Especially not d&d or two brothers...

For touring, nothing is quiter than stock.

You can fatten up the mix on the FA screws for free without buying a jet kit.

I'm not really worried about the noise genertated. The way I look at it, the louder i am the easier it will be to notice me on the highway.

Not even remotely true. The only one affected by the noise you make will be you.

those are next on my list... helmet is a noisy bugger.

But back to the exhaust portion, no suggestions for a lower rumble?

Hindle and Yosh make nice pipes. I'm cheap so I have a scorpion on my bandit.

general consensus is full exhaust, yes to the jet kit. Slip on no, just pull your carbs pull the caps off the mixture screws and adjust ot 2.25-2.5 turns out.

Where did this "2.25-2.5" come from? No one has EVER said 2.25. It's ALWAYS 2.5.

I love my Hindle Super sport, no problem running 1500+ km in a weekend with it. Noise does not bother me at all

Its only loud above 7k but one of the deepest sounding pipes for the Kat.
Two brothers and scorpion are also quality pipes with deep sound
