  • help about Illumiglo Gauges's needles

    Hi guys!
I bought one Illumiglo Gauges kit trought eBay for my 600 kat but there's no new needles, so now I'm looking for a illuminated needles kit.

    This is my kit

As you can see, needles must be lighted because now I can't almost see it.

    Thank you very much

I don't believe you'll find any replacement needles that are lighted for the Kat. You might be able to cast your own from clear resin tho.

I think I remember reading a thread on here where someone painted the needles to be more visible. Might be cheaper/quicker than trying to find some needles. Maybe some glow in the dark paint

If you can get a hold of some regular needles and paint them a fluorescent color(i did orange) and throw some fluorescent CCFL lights inside your gauge cluster they light up really nice.

Here are some pics (second page.)

It would be fantastic to see some installation photos

You can get round CCFL's online or on ebay. They are most common in cooling fans for computers(which is where I got them). I'm not sure if i took install photos or not. I'll look. But it is really simple. Basically you just put the CCFL light inside the gauge cluster around each dial. I glued them into place using a hot glue gun. then you just run the wires to your battery with an inline fuse. The CCFL lights come with inverters too. The wires coming from the CCFL lights connect to the inverter, and then the inverter wires are what go to the battery.
