Rust on exhaust system

Ok the headers of my "new to me" bike are rusty- is my only option to replace them or have any of you done some kind of inexpensive restoration process? Maybe, sanding and a coating of some type of paint? I would like to paint them black if possible. Thanks for the help.

You could have them jet coated I guess.

At the very least, I'd pull the header bolts and add some anti-seize to them.

yeah, it's easy, take off the headers use a wire brush or wire wheel on a die grinder. Then like Steve said get them ceramic coated or paint the black with high temp paint. Use high temp anti seaize when you put them back on, you might want to grind out the excess welds well they're off to.
