Looking at the one I bought, it doesn't line up that well. The front flap that bolts under the front seat latch isn't at the right angle, but will flex to the right angle, and the rear toward the taillight isn't quite the right curve. I'll probably end up making a small piece that will fit inside to brace it to the right shape. It is held on by the seat latch in the front, and two screws in the back that thread into the rear two holes of the seat brackets.

Here are a couple pics of how the piece comes:

Mine didnt line up 100% untill I drill everything and bolted it up.

The latch flap did the same thing on mine.

Hey guys... mine is a Suzuki Cowl, and it didn't line up right until I messed with it either. Don't feel bad about it not lining up right. SEQX34 has a Suzuki cowl too (I think) and he had the same problems.

          foam pad

So, where did the foam pad come from that others have mounted on the front of their aftermarket cowl?Or was this with a 750 or something. i have a 600, and wasn't sure if it just fit snug against the rear of the front seat.

the ones with the foam pad are generally the rare suzuki ones that came with them. If they've done it on an aftermarket cowl, they probably made it. Shouldn't be too tricky.

Im not sure either...I just thought it might have to be on there. I saw the Braada cowks were 129.00 for the 98 +, wonder if the <98 is the same. Probably so.

I tried an AirTech cowl on a Kat once........they are thin, and not the right kind of material (I think I remember them being fiberglass?) which is too ridgid for a bolted piece on a bike) I took it off and gave it away.

I've owned over 70 Katanas - you think I know anything about them?

Does this cowl go over the rear seat, or do you not use the seat at all?

i beleive you remove the seat. The cowls are more flush with the tail light than the seat is.
