ive search and found some great streetfighters in here, but i havent found any of a +98.... isnt there anyone who built a street of a +98!?? want some ideas to get me started on a project!!
Thanks for the props rwcreigh
This is a basic subframe chop..
The problem is the remaining subframe is greatly weakened by the removal of the rails leading from the passenger seat area to the
foot peg area. This design would IMObarely support the rider.. IMO...
After that they fitted some tiny driving lights by the looks of it and added the turnsignals at the small triangular bosses for the fairing..
A pod type filter set up (not recommended! too hard to tune)
And a home made or dirtbike muffler.
The tail light is a stock 600 unit tacked on to what was
left of the subframe after the grinder visit. That is the stock 600 seat..
After that its all stock (and filthy) Not my cup of tea.. But fairly easy.
I'm betting there are maybe two custom parts. The rest is grinder work..
I don't like these "streetfighters"
The seat doesn't line up right, no attempt was made to dress up any of the
componants exposed. I don't see any performance enhancements.
(sure that "custom" exhaust and air filter but I bet it runs worse than stock) IMO a Streetfighter is a bike that is restored from a crash and is
improved in the process.
(Even though mine only had tip over damage )
All worn or damaged parts have been replaced
with either custom, GSXR or something off a higher end bike.
(with the exception of my headlight.)
I'm not trying to hate here.
But use the above picture as a starting point..
Not a goal.
well i do like the "rat" feeling of the bike, but i would clean it up a bit...maybe paint the frame...new set of rims.... and smooth out the tail... better muffler and so on.... but i think the idea is "raw" and homemade, and i like it!! is the seat and seat-frame the same on both modells ?chop,chop.... and solo seat!?
ok,ive looked at some pictures, and i see that pre98 seat is in two parts, and a +98 seat is a whole piece....but i think i can switch rather easely between the two

Check the micro fich to see if the pre 98 and post 98 seat latches are the same. Even if they arn't, the actual latches are screwed to the subframe not
welded so they might could be moved/ swapped.
"Rat bike" is fine its you bike but be aware of the safety issues
involved when you power up a grinder.. By that I mean
frame strength..
