I need some tips for improving the mirrors on my pre 600. The stock mirrors do their job adequately, but it seems that they're just not designed for a 190cm/90kg (6'3"/200lbs) guy with wide shoulders wearing a size XL armored jacket. I also have pre 750 handlebars which raise the bars a further inch or so. I can see my elbows, arms, shoulders and part of the next lane. If I want to see behind me (judging distance to the car behind me, checking position of emergency vehicles etc.) I have to move around in the seat and raise my arm and peek under it. Time-consuming and unsafe.
I was thinking of some sort of bar-end mirrors like these:
But somebody on another forum told me he had those and that they pretty much sucked.
Now, I have no need to keep the mirrors anywhere near stock so bar-end mirrors, bar-mounted mirrors and all kinds of aftermarket solutions and mods are acceptable as long as I can see better what's happening behind me.
So, what kind of solutions have you guys done and what can you recommend me?
