  • help on sanding forks i think?

    i bought this bike and i am painting it and doing a lot of stuff to it but dont know how to get these spots out of the front forks any ideas?

    you could try very fine steel wool or emory cloth

        Steel wool is great for removing stains, and corrosion such as you have pictured.

        Be sure to use 0000 fine type steel wool. Great for cleaning chrome parts also.
        One project done, now on to the next few!!

          wasnt planning on painting them but if i scrub then with steel wool do i have to do anything to them to keep them from the weather? i started sanding a small spot and it looks like i am taking off a finish?

            When you are finished I would just wax them like you do the fairings, Just to keep them protected from water and prevent future spoting. But that is just my opinion.
