  • Orange Peel

If you spray your base and it has orange peel, does it need to be taken care of before applying the clear? Or can you clear over the rough base and get a good finish by polishing the clear?

Er, I don't think you should get orange peel in a base coat of paint....

did you use a good primer? You're getting orange peel because there's some kind of chem reaction between what you're spraying and the existing paint underneath.

Your putting it on too heavy, increase the pressure or reduce the material. If you got orange peel on the easy part, you clear will really look bad.

Ok, I haven't actually done it yet. I thought the base might get orange peel and I wanted to be prepared.

You want just enough base to color it, nothing more. The clear is what protects it.
