What did you use you paint the bike? Rattle Cans? If so what brand? I have an 01 as well and will be starting a similar project this weekend.

I used rattle cans, specifically rustoleum truck bed liner, and duplicolor metal specks. I had lots over drip problems with the metal specks because the paint seemed to collect at the spray tip quiet easily. I had to do lots of quick shots and wipe the tip in between. The spray on truck bed liner worked really well, but half way through the can, it would only shoot out propellant, so I had to turn the can upside down to finish off each can I used.

I am looking to do a two tone paint sometime this year, I really like the patterns in yours. Great work

Thanks man! I will tell you that you have to be VERY careful when you are back masking to shoot your second color. I was a little lazy about it with one of the designs and ruined it because it wasn't sealed properly. big mistake.

Finally, an update....

Just finished painting the 03 tail. Just need to pinstripe and the fairings are all done. I also ordered a set of gold fairing bolts from pro-bolts the other day. I think that should look good.

its part of the undertail made by Krazy Kreations. I'd advise against ordering it from them. From what I hear it takes months to actually get your order. I got mine from a fellow Kat rider, but you should have good luck finding it on ebay

Just got a few new parts. New Mirrors, bolts from Pro Bolts. and I painted a few more pieces!!! its starting to come together finally.

Nice job. I would add some type of red to the tank though, to try and even the colors out some, as all the attention is drawn to the red, maybe just add a red tank pad.

Update....

Just finished my $3 mesh mod with metal gutter gaurds from home depot. Also got the GS500 windscreen mod done. I'm so much happier with this windscreen
