  • finished the kats paint job

Hello all, After having my 06 kat stolen and recovered with some road rash and some busted parts i decided to repair and repaint. I went with black because a few states that it is the "fastest color" plus i added a couple decals for extra HP. The one thing i learned was that black will show every little flaw on the bike but in my opinion it was worth it in the long run because after repainting, repairing a couple times i got pretty good at it. The other thing i learned was that the members of this site will not hesitate to give you advice and tips to make it a whole lot easier on your project. So i'm giving props to Teddy for his knowledge on paint and the post polishing stage, thanks for your advice Teddywell here is a picture of the finished project.

That looks amazing. And it is true, black is truly the fastest color.

Lol, thanks. That bucket is a picture ham, it won't stay in my shop where he belongs, he just had to be in the pic.

I'll be painting mine this spring when it warms up so I'd love to hear some details around the steps you took and any gotchas - looks great.

Good job! I'm workin' on getting mine ready for paint too. I was kinda torn between black and silver. Silver's the winner this time with a little persuasion from the wife but if there's a next time blacks definitely the color!
