  • 96 "new" left fairing, available?

I was pulling out of my alley last night and as i was making the turn the headlight kicked off (another issue i have to figure out now) and ended up putting the bike down because of a sewer grate. The left fairing is now cracked right above the gearshift. I'm thinking about doing a repair for now, since im still a beginner rider, but i would like to get a new fairing for when i'm a little more comfortable down the road. Are there any good places to get one for a cheap price? ABS or fiberglass is not an issue.

I read that there is no difference between the 600's or 750's between 89-96 when it comes to the fairing. is this true? I can post pictures after i get them (it was dark and i was pretty heated at the headlight)

    Thanks for the help!

ps- since im new to the forum, is there a "parts for sale" section? I apologize, i've been breezing threw this site while im at work (and im not supposed to)

you cant order fairings from suzuki anymore. there is a brand new left main fairing for sale by member arsenic, its probably the last in its exsistence. if not that then you can order replacement fiberglass fairings but you will have to modify them to get to fit.

Thanks for that link, i actually am hoping it stays around. I don't have that kinda cash to splurge at this moment... I was kinda hoping for someone selling their old one for cheap (IE: minor scratches and nicks) and then i was going to paint it myself. I will have to keep my eye out for one.

Good luck with that one... I searched far and wide for spare fairings (to paint while I was still riding my bike) and it took alot of searching via Craigslist and online message boards.

There are aftermarket new ABS fairings available as well, still over $100 for them on the uppers.

                There are others besides Airtech

Maier...they can be had for about $170 each for the uppers new. One of the fairings on my Kat when I bought it was a Maier...it fit very well. You do have to drill the holes, and just take some time fitting it.

I've also Cheetah Street Bodywork for the pre98 Kats...Ebay had the complete set (uppers, rears, belly, front lip, fender) for like $599 or something...but I've seen alot of complaints from Cheetah on quality control for other bikes...

The OEM ABS fairings are more durable...just have to do some legwork to find 'em. You can also find broken up fairings and try your hand and repairing them. Plenty of how to's and threads here that deal with that...

Airtech is fiberglass... And I agree.

Maier I believe is the one's I have, ABS, and fit well... only difference other than needing to drill the holes I can tell is no mounting screw tab for the top inside corner piece at the windshield/instrement panel area.
