  • post-98 600 seat on a pre-98...

So, I have a '95, and while the seat isn't terrible, it's a far cry from being a touring seat, and short of pulling the seat apart and replacing the foam (still an option) I was thinking of what I could do.

I've seen lots of post-98 bikes and the seat looks like it's pretty much the same size length+width as both pieces of the pre- seat. Just wondering if anyone has done or conjectured about doing this- taking a post-98 seat or (preferably) something like a corbin for the post-98 and chopping the rear apart on a pre and moving around the locking mechanism...

The subframe is different, and the pre98 seat is two piece, the 98+ one piece.

You'd likely have to change out the sub frame.
