sand paper

I am about to paint my bike but am unsure what grade of sand paper to use. all I want to do is scuff up the old paint to apply primer and Dupont paint. I bought 220 grit sand paper (will that do or do i need a finner paper like 330?)

You will need at least 400 Grit. That 400 grit will scuff up the old finish well enough to allow the new stuff to stick, without making any huge gouges and scratches. And remember WET SAND!

Just take a squirt bottle, and wet the paper very well along with your surface.
