  • Pre's, what are you using...

Directed to Pre's, what are those of you with a fender/shovel shop using as a light for the plate? I beleive that posts have the light in a good place, but on a pre it is down by the plate and when chopping, you must remove it. I'll be doing this when I get a chance and am wondering what you guys/gals are doing?
    thanks
    Brian

This will give you a good idea...

That's an LED - good light, very clean and keeps me legal.

i used the stock light, attached to the underside of the tail light plastic. i painted the clear lens black to within 1" of the bottom so the bulb is not viewable to drivers behind, since it is raised higher than stock

i have no fairings, but i don't think they would be in the way if i did

      jgmann67, that looks great!

On my pre i have a competition werkz tail eliminator. I am running a LED pod for a licence plate light and it is mounted with 2 sided tape to the taillight. It works great but, pending state i believe it is legal to have any color you want but dont quote me.

I use the same thing as Jgmann67. As long as it keeps me legal, I'm fine with it.

I poured spot remover on my dog. Now he's gone.

They have these bolts with lights in them that you can use to secure your license plate with, which you can also direct to illuminate them. The bolts are hollow so the wires go through and you can connect them to your stock connections.

            Something like this...

I got the bolts with the led lights but the don't look to bright to me. Sorry to thread jack but maybe its not good for a swingarm plate whats the best for that? Is there anything that will work with swing arm cause the led only does a little bit like the corner of the plate??????

                  Cycle Gear has these:

I used this on my pre shovel chop, I've also seen this tweaked to work on a swing arm plate (much brighter, cheaper, and easier to install that the plate LED bolts):

BTW, I think they may have been correct. It does appear that BLACK is indeed the FASTEST color. R.O.R...R.I.P.M

I've seen people using a saw on their stock taillight, would be the cheapest (best?) solution...

Depending on how handy you are you can save some money. I got some LED accent lights from WalMart for $3.29 a pair, they are in the automotive section. Used some 90* aluminum angle I had laying around and screwed it to the plate holder behind the plate. Here's a day pic, all the night pics I have don't show up too well but they light it up just fine.
